Situated on the
prominent corner of Compton Avenue & Lilliput Road this design comprises
separate buildings, linked through a subterranean garaging level with access
from Lilliput Road. The four built forms differ in their architectural style
dramatically in an effort to replicate the diverse mix of architectural styles
in the surrounding area.
The corner block is influenced by the Arts & Crafts
movement in particular the work of Charles Voysey. The building’s form creates
a striking presence of architectural interest on a previously dull corner of
Compton Avenue and is surmounted with a large corner turret capped with a
pre-patinated copper dome.
