The site is located between
the sea front and The Al Fatah Trade Centre building within the business
district of Tripoli. Our brief was do design a contemporary restaurant complex
including parking layout and landscaped leisure areas on the currently vacant
land.
Inspiration
for the design has been the nomadic Bedouin people’s tented desert villages and
our design seeks to create a memory alluding to the rolling sand dunes of the
desert and the temporary Bedouin encampments. The proposal therefore seeks to respect
this tradition and to "touch the ground lightly”, the various restaurants and
other facilities being of lightweight steel framed construction with billowing
fabric roofs.
