The site was formed by the demolition of unsightly redundant buildings attached to the rear of commercial premises on a corner site in the secondary shopping centre of Christchurch. The resulting strikingly contemporary scheme for 2 properties followed the refusal for a single dwelling and was supported by the planners as an exemplar for the renaissance of the area.
