With
an initial brief from our clients, Barratt Homes, for 50 units on a much larger
site area, we achieved a negotiated approval from the LPA for a total of
85units comprising apartments and houses, the majority of which were bespoke units
which were added to Barratts' standard house type range since they proved to be
extremely cost effective and popular with buyers. The site itself is in
the attractive and upmarket sailing area of Hamble and
is close to the river which is visible from the top of the sloping site.
The stepping down of the development, taking advantage of the topography,
maximised the potential for views from the development over the water to the
south of the site.
