The site is currently
occupied by a disused car showroom and lies to the east of the City
of Salisbury on elevated land near St Martins Church dating from 11th
Century and the most ancient church in the area. The immediate area is a mix
of industrial and residential and the LPA encouraged a wholly residential
development having seen our initial proposal for a mixed use development.
Partnering with a Housing Association we last month received approval for
24 flats in a contemporary style, which would take full advantage
of the distant views to the water meadows to the west. Garaging is located
in a discrete basement storey and the L shaped design allows a good buffer
between the proposal and the commercial premises that will remain to the north south
and east.
